Zombies at the Gates and Other Tales eBook Peter J Gilbertson Robert Stenzinger
I had fun reading these tales! I have always liked movies like Creepshow, Planet Terror etc. That is what these stories remind me of. Some horror, with a bit of a fun, comedic element mixed in always makes for a good read. My favorite of the tales is the second, "Kids Chant the Damnedest Things". It puts me in mind of some of the stories from Robert R. McCammon's book, Blue World. It was the story that stuck with me and I found myself thinking about it days after reading it and putting myself in the main characters shoes. The third tale was my second favorite although I enjoyed them all. It reminds me of an old Clifford D. Simak science ficton tale. These tales were definitely worth the price the book lists for! I like Gilbertson's style and I can't wait to see what he comes up with next!Product details

Zombies at the Gates and Other Tales eBook Peter J Gilbertson Robert Stenzinger Reviews
I'm an avid reader of zombie books so I got this due to the title alone. I thought all the stories were well-written I especially enjoyed the last one.
I loved all of these stories. Each one is a vivid, intense and gripping tale of morality, discovery and macabre. I could see each one of these stories as a film. I think Ryan Gosling could play the lead character in the last story. But, my favorite story in the collection is the first one, Zombies at the Gates. It is edge-of-your seat suspenseful and terrifying ala The Walking Dead. I couldn't put it down until the end. You will love this story collection!
This is a really entertaining read of a number of short stories, each one so different from the next. Characters are well developed, plots actually make sense, and it is entertaining all the way through.
It was good but I wish there were more stories ) It felt like a good beginning for more to happen
Gilbert son authored this small set of stories and none of them are alike which is great. The tales remind me when I was a kid reading Bradbury. Very enjoyable stories. Wish there were a few more to showcase the author's talent.
Highly recommend.
This is a very odd combo of stories. The first one spent way took much time describing the decrepit environment of the main character in graphic detail. The second one was very freaky in a scary way. The third story was repetitive and predictable (at least the first half that I read)
These stories convey visceral images and feelings and are certainly vivid and descriptive. There is writing talent here, some may find the tales a bit too quirky and some will love the odd bent these tales take. I recommend this read, I am sure it is just right for some but the tales did not completely land for me. The zombie story is well done but zombies is not a genre that I seek out and the futurism/technology story lacked a certain realism that I could imagine in the future. But that's just me perhaps, give this a read.
